Life isn’t always easy. We all go through tough times — whether it’s stress at school, problems with friends or family, feeling anxious, or just not knowing why you feel sad or angry. Sometimes, you might feel like no one understands or that you’re stuck in a loop of the same negative thoughts or emotions.

The good news? You don’t have to go through it alone.

Therapy is a way to get help when you’re struggling emotionally. It’s not just for people in crisis — therapy can also help you learn more about yourself, grow stronger mentally, and build a better life. As a psychologist in Sedalia, CO, and South Colorado Springs, I’ve worked with many people (teens and adults) who felt overwhelmed or stuck. Together, we worked through their emotions so they could feel better and more in control.

What Is Therapy?

Some people think therapy is just about talking, but it’s much more than that. Therapy gives you a safe, private place to talk about what’s on your mind without being judged. You can speak freely about your fears, stress, thoughts, and anything that’s bothering you. I listen, help you understand what you’re feeling, and guide you in finding healthy ways to deal with those feelings.

As a trained therapist, I also use something called Neuro-Emotional Technique, or NET. It’s a special method that helps us figure out if your body is holding on to old emotional pain — even if you don’t realize it.

What Is NET (Neuro-Emotional Technique)?

Have you ever felt upset or scared, even when nothing bad is happening? That’s often because your body remembers old stress, like from a time when you felt hurt, embarrassed, or afraid. NET is a way to find those old emotional memories and gently help your body release them.

It works like this: We use simple muscle testing to find where your body might be holding on to past stress. Then, we connect that feeling with something from your past — maybe a memory or situation — and help your body “let it go.” It doesn’t involve any needles or scary stuff. Most people feel calm and relaxed after the session.

A lot of my clients, including teens, say they feel lighter and more clear-minded after just a few sessions of NET.

Why Would Someone Need Therapy?

There are lots of reasons someone might go to therapy, including:

  • Feeling sad, anxious, or angry most of the time
  • Struggling with stress from school, family, or relationships
  • Going through a big change like a move, break up, or loss
  • Not feeling good about yourself or your body
  • Having trouble focusing or sleeping
  • Wanting to understand yourself better

You don’t have to be “broken” to go to therapy. It’s a brave and smart step toward feeling better and growing as a person.

I’m Wayne, and I’ve been helping people of all ages with their emotional health for over 20 years. My office is located near Castle Rock, and I see clients from Sedalia, CO, South Colorado Springs, and other nearby towns.

When you come to me for therapy, I’ll listen closely to your story. I’ll never judge you or tell you how you should feel. Instead, we’ll work together to understand what’s going on and what your body and mind need to heal.

With tools like talk therapy and NET, we’ll help you feel more calm, confident, and in control. My goal is to help you live a happier, healthier life — one where you’re not just surviving but growing.

FAQs

  1. Do I have to talk about everything in therapy?
No. You can talk about whatever you’re ready for. There’s no pressure. We go at your pace.
  2. Is therapy like school counseling?
It’s similar in that someone listens and helps you, but therapy is more personal and private. You’ll get one-on-one support without any distractions.
  3. What if I don’t know what’s wrong, but I just don’t feel okay?
That’s fine. Many people come in feeling unsure. Therapy can help you figure out what’s going on and how to feel better.
  4. Will you tell my parents everything I say?
If you’re a teen, we’ll talk about your privacy in our first session. Most of the time, what you share stays private, unless there’s a safety concern. I’ll always be honest with you about what I can and can’t share.
  5. How do I get started?
Just reach out through my website, and we can set up a time to talk. If you’re under 18, a parent or guardian will need to help schedule the first appointment.
